I hear ya! I dumped mine...took a beating! However, I bought a new Dodge Ram and love it. It rides much softer with the new coil link rear suspension then my Ford. Just got back from a long trip and got 19.4 MPG and did not have the life threating fall on your face issue. I can't believe someone has not been hurt or killed as a result of this.

i know that is what i keep waiting to hear about someone got killed or seriously injured, not that i want it to happen, sure is a shame, i think Ford has great trucks but cannot design a good solid engine

Exclamation

just dumped mine too! Had been in 5 times in 6 months over this awful shaking and shuddering....then the leaf springs started creaking and clunking. I went back to a car (MKZ).

Just seen a clearance 2012 Sierra for 19,000 base model. Might ****** it up! no more ford trucks!

After 8 months of "we are working on a fix" to engineer ride along in April, "Yep it shudders and surges. I'll recommend a buy back" to 3 months of delay tactics, run-arounds, Ford-inflicted deadlines followed by my dealership "not knowing how the process works" while they run out the clock and pin me with $4700.00 "buyer participation fee." I have officially made my 2011 ecoboost somebody else’s problem and am happily driving my 2012 FX2 with a 5.0. Shifts smooth, accelerates smoothly and goes up slight inclines without a hiccup.

All it took was 11 months of daily phone calls, trips to the dealerships hearing, “we are working on a fix" 100’s of times, and I’m in a truck that doesn't make me want to drive into the dealership wall. Last new Ford for me.

Part 2, transferring my 100K extended warranty and tire/glass/door-ding insurance plans to the new vehicle. Spent all morning Wed and part of Thurs getting passed around from one Ford rep to another. Still no solution. What a screwed up company.

Final words. If your $40k truck doesn’t work right, get a lawyer now! Don’t let Ford sucker you into thinking they have a solution just around the corner. They don’t. They want you to lose your lemon law leverage so they can walk all over you like they did me.

So my truck did this again this morning on the way to work, but there was a decent spread between temp and dew point. 47 degrees, 39 degree dew point. Windows were not all fogged up this morning. I would say that there could have potentially been moisture left over from yesterday...but last night I drove it very hard after our softball games which should have cleared moisture out if there was any.

Next week if work is a little slow I hope to pull my IC after driving into work and it exhibits the shudder/misfire.

Well headed into shop on Monday. 2012 XLT ECO 4x4 3350 miles and the shudder is getting worse. Especially notice while going up hills. Sure hope there is a fix. I love the truck and especially love the mpg I get.

Question for you... If you buy a washing machine from Home Depot, and it would only wash clothes sometimes, what would you do? Let's assume this is a "premium" washing machine that you paid a premium price for. Oh, and it's only a couple months old.

Bought mine in April and it started shuttering in May. Started the limp mode, shake you out of the seat, check engine light flashing routine that is now predictable in may as well. Ford says there is a new inter cooler coming in November. Since they're not wanting to buy back these trucks or make things right, I just won't ever buy another Ford product of any kind if this can't fix it. I do drive a lot, 26k on mine since April. I was told the ecoboost isn't really designed for long periods of sustained cruise. Haha. I can't tow with mine anymore, but thankfully I didn't trade my 2006 duramax that has 279,000 miles on it. I've also learned, from Ford, that my 23 ft center console boat is too heavy for an f 150...... I grew up driving Chevys, have owned 5 brand new Chevy trucks. Two of them diesels. This 2012 fx4 ecoboost has been back to the shop 16 times since April. That's more than all 5 of my Chevys combined. Again, driving close to 60,000 miles a year I do keep them on the road so I expect them to wear out tires and need more oil changes. I bought this truck because of the towing capacity and I just really liked the new design. Seemed like a better buy than any of the other in its class. I hope that ford will do what is right and either fix it or buy it back, willingly.

Just an FYI... Ford has replaced on my truck: the intake with the newer small hose design, coils, injectors, injector rail sensors, cat, throttle body, a solenoid on the turbo, and this last time another cat and a new ECM. On its last trip in, they called me all excited about believing they had it fixed this time because they'd found the ground strap dangling off the back of the engine. The tech said it looked as if it had never been connected at the factory. Well, it didn't change anything. I didn't even make it home before the check engine light was on.

As for the fuel.... I asked the dealer AND the engineer that came down to look at my truck what I should use. He told me that they were tested and performed the best with 87 octane. I asked if there was a particular brand that he'd recommend. He pointed across the street to a Quiktrip.
