2011+ 55-60mph 5.0 Shuddering and EcoBoost Engine Miss/Loss of Power - Possible Fixes

Alabama is my state
you do not have to tell them. as long as you are on one end of the conversation, recording is legal. (but you probably can't sell that recording...that might be illegal).

I believe the laws vary from state to state. Not to sound like a douche but before anyone gives out any thing even resembling "legal advice" they should be 100% sure they are correct.

Not excited that the fix is a deflector

I am curious, if a IC deflector is the fix for the 55-60 mph shudder/hesitation/misfire, then what are the gonna do for my 5.0 liter truck? I still believe the shudder to be transmission related hence every motor combo has the issue. Good Luck all!

IMO the 55+ shudder is a different problem. I have it bad especially towing. I too think it's tranny related. Time will tell.

Tell them it did not store the codes, it didnt when mine threw them. The whole bank of cylinders 4-6 were misfiring, codes po300 304 305 306. Just tell them that even if you didnt get any codes they dont know any better.

If it works it works, just don't like that a $.10 piece of plastic and flash is the supposed fix on a very complex $40,000 vehicle. The last PCM flash did little.
And don't like how they require codes to do much of the work. It has been documented several times by members having these issues that they get a flashing CEL, and the codes are not stored. How are we supposed to prove to the dealer we have issues when no codes are stored? And in my case my CEL never went off, but fell on its face bad twice in three days. Guy that works across the street had it fall on its face too but never had a CEL.
And the catalytic converters are a whole nother issue. My driveway is stained from soot/unburned fuel, my truck is not throwing any cat codes. I have it documented by the dealer that the amount of soot is not normal on my truck. Yet I don't have any codes. Wonder what the cats look like in my truck, hopefully not too bad if its not throwing a code, but appears it runs very rich. Cold start up=black smoke out the tailpipe. Some have said some soot is normal, which I believe. But I believe it is extreme in my case and not good for the emissions systems.
Waiting for a call back from the service manager.
Trust me, hoping Ford got it right and all will be well. Guess time will tell as people get this done. My truck really exhibited the issues in the cold weather months, so I may be waiting 6 months before I really get a feel for if it worked.
