These are all real good theories but, I can make mine do the shudder thing anytime I want to in 4th, 5th, and 6th under slight loads. Shifting down to 5th at 55-60 does make the problem seem to go away but, if I slow down to a point where the revs are the same as they were while in 6th, it will shudder just the same way. Same thing if I shift it to 4th and do another reduction in speed. Soon as the engine gets into the 13-1700 RPM range under a light load it will do the infamous shudder.
Since I live in an area with humidity around 15% on average, I don't have the condensation issue around here. Every time I open the petcock on my IC nothing comes out. So, this whole shudder thing seems to me to be an engine/computer problem that is exacerbated by the trans not shifting down early enough. Just spit balling though.

I can do the same. 3,4,5,6 gears. Just need the right load and rpm.

I have been told that the TSB will be out in the next 1-2 weeks by my dealer, the service rep is a former Ford Engineer. It will include a new intercooler, they are waiting on EPA approval and parts. .

I will keep everyone posted.

This is what happens with my truck. Mild acceleration getting on the freeway will cause a surge/pluse I can feel and heard. Feels like boost builds and then immediately dumps. I can also hear this as the whoosh others have described. The fuel milage drops into the dirt with this as well.

Same here. I've felt it in almost every gear but it seems more noticeable in 6th. Of all the variables involved with this miss/shutter/jerk/slip the rpm range it occurs in seems to be the constant.... Always less than 2000rpm, most of the time around 1700 but has occurred as low as 1400 too. Some days worse than others. Sometimes barely noticeable and sometimes feels like a misfire or if you turned the key off for a split second while driving down the road. Really weird that the occurrence is not constant and how some trucks don't experience it at all. I've got the 5L by the way.

The problem ford is probably having is changing the shift dynamics of the tranny and that is making mileage go in the pooper which contradicts everything the Ecoboost is supposed to be about. I haven't seen anything above 16 mpg since I've owned mine. Granted I only have 3K miles and 80% of that was towing 5K lbs. My towing mileage is an average of 10 mpg. I guess if you tow a lot you might as well buy a diesel regardless of the tow weight.

IMO Ford knows exactly what is wrong. They've just needed time to determine if/how they want to address the issues w/out costing Ford a bundle. Then again we haven't seen a fix yet or know if the fix in the works will indeed resolve the problems.

Two days in a row horrible shutter and for the second day in a row fell on its face, almost got ran over this time though. Both days raining with a dewpoint of 45 temp of 48. Taking it in this week and refusing to take it back, going to start the lemon process after this weekend, almost got me killed on my vacation. Almost wish I could have been rear ended so I could sue the s*** out if them and get this fixed for everyone (had other witnesses in the truck).

I have not read through all 150 pages. But are the guys running aftermarket tunners having the same problems with the shuddering/spuddering, or did the aftermarket tune clear any of these issue's up?

I dont think anyone that has the issue has tried due to the warranty worries. If it does work I would be buying a livernois tune asap.

And what if the fix was some other tune?
