Well....after 7 months of shuddering and all the other problems I have had with my 2011 F150 FX4 Ecoboost....I have decided to take the loss and move on to another vehicle. I talked to the rep. from Ford that I have been keeping in touch with about my vehicle issues. I have the case number, etc. I told him that I have driven Fords for at least 25 years and what could Ford do for me since I have had all these issues with my vehicle. I also told him I was considering Toyota, GM, GMC, etc. He basically told me ...Good Luck, we won't do anything for you to try to keep you with Ford Motor Co. , and as far as my vehicle goes.....It is what it is !! Thanks alot Ford !!!!

I'm in the process of dealing for a new dodge. I am not going to play the Ford game anymore. Looks like I'm going to be getting a pretty sweet deal even with the little bit of neg equity.

I'm getting a Dodge as well. Just waiting on my replacement truck to come in since my lemon went through. Hell, I might not even drive it to the Ram dealer. Would be funny to tow it there and let them take it with a couple miles on it.

Not surprised Ford doesn't want to do anything for you. They tried to lie their asses off when I went to arbitration.

I've been saying it for months. Ford has no intentions on fixing the problems with the 11-12 F150's under warranty. The only thing they are doing is stalling as many people as they possibly can until warranties are up. Once enough warranties are up they'll offer a fix. Probably a new torque converter or something to do with the turbo system.

Oh yeah, new transmission design for the 2013 F150. 7 speed in a larger case. Go figure.

Didn't take any pics and not going to take things apart to do so. But, it's pretty easy. Once you take off enough stuff to get access to the intercooler/IC, you drill a hole in the bottom of one of the side tanks. You get a new petcock from the parts store and buy a nut that the petcock will thread into. You then mix up a batch of two part epoxy (JB Weld) and glue the nut over the hole. I drilled 4 or 5 small holes around the large hole to force the epoxy into for a more secure bond. When it's all set up good and hard, you thread in the petcock and viola you now have a drain for the IC.
The reason you use a nut to thread the petcock into is two fold. First, to thread the tank and just screw it in there isn't a good idea. It's two thin and you wouldn't want a blowout under turbo pressure. Second, if ya did decide to just screw it into the tank, the opening of the petcock would be pretty high above the bottom of the tank and you'd not get enough water out to accomplish your goal. The nut is actually a spacer to lower the opening of the petcock to drain as much water as possible.
