Okay.. I searched around and did not find much... so I have replaced my water pump around 4 times already yes.. 3 under warranty and one outside of warranty. The last pump warped.. how weird is that?!

My MAIN question is what is the normal operating temp of the 4.6 v8 (in case you want to skip the story)

I have an edge programmer and am in STOCK mode. I use it for diag and reading gauges.

I noticed my engine temprature once went to 245 AFTER mudding..

So I got it pressure washed. Okay constant 230.. my pump blew at 230.

Replaced it with a duralast lifetime warranty.

I backflushed the radiator. it did have green coolant, turned BROWN then turned white then flushed nicely clear. Replaced coolant.


I have a 170 degree thermostat. Idle wont reach over 180. We are good.

While driving it will reach 215 and 230. Off road im sure it will stay constant 220 - 230


Is this NORMAL? o.0 what is the normal temp? 90 degree weather.
The dummy gauge is ALWAYS in the middle just once went to 3 quarters.

Am I in trouble? Normal? Runs smooth.. no white smoke. No bubbles in coolant. NEW pump. Hoses are good. 90 thousand mile truck. No cel for temp related issues.

If anyone must know, It was a clogged radiator. flushed it myself al good now. got a sweet 170 degree thermostat...

Given that the last production year that offered a 4.6L (2v|3V) engine in a F-150 was 2010, I would surmise that you have an ultra rare vehicle.

What he said, they didn't make the 2011s with the 4.6. If think it was a typo.
