That's my one major gripe about newer cars and repairs. It seems like nothing can be repaired these days unless it's throwing a code and the computer tells the mechanic exactly what the issue is.
Have you tried deleting the KAM? Do you run a tuner? Have they updated your PCM at any of your visits? Looked at the trans fluid?
These are all things I've done/considered since experiencing my shift issue, though it doesn't sound as severe as yours.

Looks like mine will be involved as well. Just squeaked it under the mileage cap too.
I find it interesting that Ford is performing a recall for three accidents and that this issue has never appeared on the forum. Meanwhile, the vacuum pump problem was present for years, was all over the forum and was attributed to numerous accidents. Why the different response?
Just called and confirmed that I'm covered. It apparently is only a reflash. If there is a trouble code, then they will replace the internal sensor. Since it's almost impossible to set codes on these trucks, you can bet that the sensor isn't getting replaced.

Does the pcm reflash also include reflashing the motor? I am going to order a 5* tuner soon for my 2011 Eco and it needs to be reflashed anyhow, so that wound perfect. My 2011 has never been reflashed as I have had no problems with it.

Oh, and do a Sync update too. They're fixed a bunch of the Sync problems and it's well worth the time to do the update.
