I spoke with a corporate representative this afternoon who stated that the recall shows that the updated software will not be available until at least the third quarter of this year. I believe I read that others have been given the same information.

Like others, I am still waiting on the software update.Because of recent events, it appears I had 2 issues, the recall and TSB 16-0008. The TSB issue came to a head this week-end when truck went to limp mode, got wrench and engine light. Went to the dealer the next day and they noted codes of P0720 and P0722. They had the part on hand so they R&R connector, gasket, screen and refilled with fluid. No charge of course. Hopefully this will fix the second problem (hopefully there are not more) and will now wait on the software.

still no letter, or any actions listed on the Ford owner site. My build date is 27/02/2012. When should it show up?

Have you tried calling Ford to have them run your VIN? I just got my initial letter (like the one shown above) last week.

It's still just a waiting game of getting yet another letter stating the remedy is available.

I'd give them a call and see, or if you take it in for service (oil change etc.) they should inform you. Which plant was it built at?

This happened many times to my 2011. It started when it had 63K, going from 6th to 3rd many times in rapid succession. It continued to progress to where it shift from 6th to 1st, usually around 50 mph. I became so abrupt that my head would almost hit the windshield. Maybe 1k or 2k between events.

I contacted the dealer and they said if they could not reproduce it they could not fix it; and they were unable to reproduce it. I believe that reset (flashed) it. The problem continued and seemed to get more aggressive. I felt this issue was very dangerous and hoped that the dealer would fix it. I tried talking it out with the dealer, but they became defensive, and kept talking over me. I tried to get argumentative, and asked them what they would do. They said take it to the dealer where I bought (175 miles away, I moved), or leave it (can be 1k or 2k between events), or trade it in. They said anyone buying a vehicle with that many miles would expect to have problems. Nice!

There were never any warning lights when this happened. The last time it happened it scarred the heck out of me. I did trade it in. I really liked this truck and wanted to keep it for a long time. I spent a lot of money on this truck and just wanted to keep it. Two weeks after I traded it in I got the recall notice, sh#t. I do not think Ford handled it any different than any other mfg. At this point I'm out a truck, and Ford still does not know how to fix it. Nobody wins.

The dealership I traded it into is owned by the same company that owns the Ford dealership. I made them aware of the problem.

Default Got the letter, 2 days later had the problem ever since!

So my truck never had a tranny issue until 2 days after I received the letter stating I was part of the recall, no fix yet. It began getting stuck in 5th gear and then hard downshifting to 3rd gear at 45-55mph...chirping the tires and requiring me to change my underwear once I got home. It started occasionally like once per week. Then got worse. Always the wrench never a CEL. Finally, after I had an oil change in May and complained about it to my dealer who said there is no fix, but did not document my complaint, and then me calling 2 other times and running the Ford sync vehicle report also showing tranny issues, she through a CEL. I had 2 of my young boys with me at approx 75mph on the interstate when she dropped into 3rd and stuck there at around 4600rpm. Speedo lost and odometer showing only dashes. Wrench and CEL. RPM gauge still worked. Scheduled an appt early Mon am as it happened on a Sunday. After crossing into OH from NKY, on my return trip we arrived at the dealership 1 hr early as it was stuck in 3rd no matter what I tried...mostly interstate travel so that was fun. Mileage upon arrival at the dealership, 60,050! So, luckily for me I have an extended warranty because they claim it is not part of the recall. As of yesterday, it is some valve or lifter sticking they are replacing, a wiring harness, and a sensor. Costing me the $100 deductible and another $110 as the fluid, pan gasket, and filter screen are not included in the warranty despite the tranny being advertised as not needing a fluid change in 180k mi after extreme or heavy towing. Advice I was given at my dealership was to call Ford customer care and complain to see if they'd reimburse the $210 as the dealership said it was not part of the recall and since no one there made notes of my complaints prior to passing 60k, I'm SOL.
