Default 2011-12 F150 OEM Resonator Delete Solution

I have a solution for the resonator delete upgrade that can be bought at your local dealer or your favorite online parts store. I have verified on my own truck that the 09-10 extension pipes with no resonator will fit on the 11-12 trucks. The only options are with or without the chrome tip and the wheelbase. I have one installed on my truck. I can answer any questions that you may have!!

That would imply that the diameter of the intermediate pipe is the same no matter the engine. Correct?
.

Yes that is correct. An easy way to verify that is to check fitment of most aftermarket catback exhausts. Most systems fit all engines (3.5, 5.0, 6.2) so exhaust flange is the same for all engines as is the 2.5" pipe diameter. The only choice you have to make is wheelbase (which determines pipe length) and whether or not you have the green damper canister for the chrome tip.

So what are the part numbers for these?

Here are the part numbers for the 2010 models with no resonator:

9L3Z-5A212-A - 126" wb with ex. pipe extension (chrome tip)
9L3Z-5A212-B - 133" wb without ex. pipe extension
9L3Z-5A212-C - 145" wb without ex. pipe extension
9L3Z-5A212-D - 157" wb with ex. pipe extension
9L3Z-5A212-E - 163" wb without ex. pipe extension
9L3Z-5A212-F - 145" wb with ex. pipe extension
9L3Z-5A212-G - 157" wb without ex. pipe extension

All of the above numbers are listed for the 5.4L 2wd and 4wd models. These will definitely fit the 2011-12 5.0L and 6.2L, but you may want to verify fitment in the ecoboost because of the flex pipe located ahead of the muffler. The pipe diameter for all of these is 2.5" with the 2-bolt flange, but the length varies because of wb.

Awesome thanks for posting all of that, how much of a difference do you think it makes?

How does it sound with the resonator deleted? Any drone? Is it much louder?
Any you mentioned all engines, but not the 3.7?

No problem, I did a ton of research before I bought the one for mine so I would hate to have all of that go to waste. It makes the whisper quiet stock exhaust have a nice snarl to it without any backpressure change or need to reset the ECU. Its roughly a 10 minute job to install and it maintains the stock look perfectly.

It has a louder snarl to it than the stock setup, a little raspy sounding when it is cold but that goes away after a mile or so. Absolutely zero drone in the cab. As far as loudness I would say its definitely more noticeable and sounds good but its not going to draw any unwanted attention. As far as the 3.7L engine I assume that it will work because a lot of the aftermarket exhausts for the 5.0 and 6.2 also will work with it. The only one that I would really check out, measure and research more is the ecoboost because of the flex pipe setup ahead of the muffler. Other than that its definitely fairly straight forward.

You have any pics and what wheelbase do you have and which one did you buy. Also i wonder why it is more expensive to get the pipe without the chrome tip for the 157 WB?
