Yes, apparently there was a mid year change over, the early 09-10s had the info screen on the TBC and later runs in 10 has no screen on TBC and the info is in the info screen on dash.

Call Tasca parts, Google them, give them your vin and production date. They will tell you which one you need. It wil be cheaper from them and it's easy to install then you just need to go get it activated.

The price the dealer quoted sounds like the part and labor to install.

I agree with Res4cue. I have an early prod 2010 and I have the 2nd gen tbc. If memory serves right, I paid less than $200 for my unit. Installatikn was super easy too. Definitely contact Tasca to find out which one yours take.

I have a late production 2010 FX4 (8/2010). I brought it to my dealership and they entered my VIN into the computer and it gave a 2011 part number for the brake controler. They mounted it and it did not work. They then pulled one from a 2010 on the lot (2010 part number) and tried it and it worked. VIN says to use a 2011 part, but the 2010 part worked. Glad I had them install as I would have been cursing up a storm for it not working. They charged me about $180 for the part and comped the install as it took two trips to get it right.

If you're in or around Waco, Bird-Kultgen Ford will turn on the TBC for $30. Had a straight forward transaction with them earlier today. Contact Leslie McBride for the service.

I accendentally bought one for the early 2010 instead of my early 2009 yesterday if anybody was interested in it. I have a feeling that the dealership I bought it through on amazon probably won't let me return it.

If it's through Amazon you should be able to.

2009 had the display window on the TBC and the later version have info in the info window in the gauge cluster.

I bought the factory brake controller. Before I start calling around has anyone in the Buffalo NY area had a dealer turn it on? If so who did you go to and how much was it.

So I went to Delacy Ford in Elma, NY They charge $39.99 to program it. They gave me $10 off since I bought the truck from them so it cost me $32 with tax.

Default 2014 xlt

Thx for the write up. Ordered mine on eBay, installed the same way on my '14 without issues. Plug was inserted into back of coin tray without the insert.

Just got back from the dealer today and it cost me $55 tax in to reprogram.

Well ordered my part direct from Tasca for my 2014 F150 STX sport and paid a little more than off eBay but know its a brand new one. Took 10 minutes max to install module and the fuse and relay under hood. Just got off phone with the local dealer and its a 100 dollars to turn it on thru the computer...That tech will be make some good bucks for 15 minutes worth of programing.
