Default Thanks, Tim

Just wanted to thank you for the great posting. I read your comments and had my brake controller installed in about 10 minutes, including searching for the pigtail. It was right where you said it would be and NOT on the back of the junk box.

Sure hope that doesn't mean I got a "Friday" truck.

Finally got around to installing my brake controller.
Now I just need to take it to the dealership and get them to reflash the PCM.

Unsure of others that had done it but I had a bit of a time removing the panels to get to it. I've got the flow through console and had to remove the piece below the Synch connection, the silver boarder of the flow through console, the flow through console lid, then the pull back the dash cover.

Still couldnt completely remove the piece that held the junk box (Where the controller would be mounted) but gently pulled it back while removing the screws...

My wife... I will remain polite ... kept walking by waiting for me to snap something in half...

But all seems to have worked out!

Let me know which dealer you go to and if they do it for free.

I'm in the market for a 2011 Escape Hybrid and want to eliminate some of the bloodsucking dealers around here.

I will,
Crown Ford is already telling me $80 (On the phone) but they wanted $250 +/- for the controller and an additional $280 for the install.

Going to call Sanford & Carthage in the morning... or stop by later in the week.

I read in an earlier post about fuses, my TBC didn't come with any, do all of them?

Do the +/- buttons light up at all? I still have to get it programed so I'm not sure how all of this works.

The fuses may have been in a bag, with pigtail connection, in your center console/glove box. Mine were. Additionaly TASCA sent me additional fuses with my TBC. Cant speak for all of them if you buy aftermarket though.
