There are a few with transmission problems, but the vast majority you read about on here are people that see someone else has a problem and then they imagine that they also have a problem. This transmission has 6 gears and takes a little bit to get used to, but once you know how to drive it, it works perfectly. Took me about a month of driving to perfect it. I only drive about 500 miles a month though.

No problems at all, like everyone else so far. Mine goes in for the 30,000 mile service next week. Love the truck and everything about it.

Having said that, there are a few TSBs issued that deal with the transmission. But as was mentioned above, people will read the TSB and convince themselves that their truck has that problem also.

Any idea why that happened - like tires rotated and lugs over torqued by the shop or something ?

My last 3 trucks were all ram 2500 diesels (5.9 cummins) and I was having too many problems (transmissions, u joints, mystery vibrations) so it was time for a change, didn't like the chevy 1500's much. I'm glad to hear positive reviews cause I picked up my 2010 f-150 today, very clean truck, low miles, its sterling grey. Nice truck, very smooth, nice ride, no squeaks or rattles. The ride is rigid yet smooth, the chevy felt like driving a car!

I have a 2010 FX4 with 40,000 miles, 32,000 of those with a six inch lift and 35's (34.7's now) and took it in once for a hard 1 2 shift other than that no problems here. No bellhousing leak like some of the 2011's either.
