Default snapping in my steering wheel

Don't think mine is like the sticky thread on popping in steering wheel so here goes. '09 platinum 103k miles. When I turn the wheel I hear and feel a snapping in it but it feels like it is likely between the steering wheel and the firewall. I've reached up under the dash and it doesn't appear to be the joint under there but it feels and sounds like its right behing the airbag. Anybody else experience anything like this?

Your intermediate shafts is probably sticking. Noticeable when turning from lock to lock.

There's a plastic bearing inside the steering wheel that wears out. It happens quicker if you pull yourself up by the steering wheel when getting into the truck. Unfortunately it is part of a $450 assembly that the steering wheel bolts to. Mine has done it since I bought it a couple of years ago. I actually removed the intermediate shaft and it turns and slides smoothly.
