Default 2010 FX4 Oil Drain - Torque Spec

I just bought my 2010 in January, and I guess I am driving it more than I thought I would. I thought I would use it for just for hauling stuff and on weekends, but after 5000 miles I changed the oil on it last weekend. It's my first truck and I love it! Anyways, I know my way around an engine, but I don't trust my instincts on how tight is tight enough. It was so easy to change the oil that I am sure I will always do it myself.

So, what is the torque spec on the drain plug? It's not in my owners manual. I guess Ford wants you to come to them for all service because they don't mention where the oil filter is, where the drain plug is, etc.

Thanks!
James

Get yourself a Fumoto oil drain valve, then you won't have to worry about it:

hand tighten it. then put on a socket and bout a half to full turn. Dont go too tight. But honestly when loosening it oil dont start dripping until you have several threads showing so just snug is the word i would use. But i got a fumoto valve that will go on when i do my next oil change.

Yea. Its a bolt holding some liquid in. It aint holding the truck together. Yes a vital liquid but seriously overcranking it is not needed.
