2010 Fuel Sensor Question
Okay, this is starting to bug and wondering if it is normal or defective......I have had other vehicles with km/miles to empty, and they have been extremely accurate....
I put fifty dollars of gas in the truck. It registered 560 km until empty. Drove about thirty km. and next thing I know my gauge drops to less then a quarter of a tank and the mileage counter is telling me 260 km. until empty and it is dropping rapidly.......So, I turn the little screen to litres per 100 km. and leave it at that. Drive home about seventy five km. and park the truck. Went out later in the evening and the damn mileage reader is back up at 400 km. until empty??? This isn't the first time it seems to be standard on the truck, extremely inaccurate......Mention to dealer or don't mention to dealer?

The one in my truck is way off too. At least 2 mpg every time I fill up. I had this feature in a 99 Dodge Ram and it was allways acurate within .3 MPG every time. I try to fill up at the same pump at the same station every time. My actual MPG has been between 16 to 17 every time depending on how and where I drive so I know it's not how I'm filling the tank or how I figure the MPG. I really like this feature, it kinda pisses me off it doesn't work.

This happens to me all the time but I think mine happens because my driveway is on a bit of a slope so when I start driving, the sensor needs to readjust to the changed level and reduces the "xxx to E".
