Question 2010 Ford F150 STX 4x2 Help!

Hello,
I have a 2010 Ford F150 STX 4x2 4.6L 3V EFi Engine 39,000 Miles.

I just had a custom X-pipe and 22" KMC Surge Black wheels put on it. The problem I'm having is finding a 2" lowering kit for the rear, to level the whole truck out. Now I've been doing my research for a while now, and I was looking at Lowering Shackle Kits by DJM. Now, I am no mechanic but I know how to install these Lowering Shackles. I just don't want any problems, because my dad said, "back in the day, shackles would break and could pop a tire, break a rim or break a spring." He is not mechanic either though.

I also was wondering if a turbo or a supercharger would be the right path to go with this truck. I'm planning on buying the 63 Series Air Charger by K&N for $220 & a custom VMP Tune that would land me around, (estimate, 284HP 285lbs torque to the wheels.) I could be off/wrong about this. So please don't hold me to this. I AM A NEWBIE TO PERFORMANCE but I've grown up around bolt on sports cars. P.S. I'm only 18 years old, trying to further my education and increase performance & looks for my truck.

Now for the sound of my truck, (Audio.) I just ordered 2 15" Subs and a custom box, haven't decided what head-unit, and 1500AMP. The sub's RMS power is 600watts. But I'll be dropping the subs to 1ohm and pushing 750 Watts to each sub.

Get an SCT tuner and a custom tune first. You should not need to change your tune for the Air Charger. In my 4.6 the biggest bang was the tune. Air charger after and I'm sure you will find it does not make any difference in power but will add a louder growl that you may or may not want. As for the other someone will chime in.

Thanks for the reply, caperj.
What upgrades can I do to see big power gains for this truck?

I also did an SCT tuner with custom tunes through Mike at 5star tuning!

It will be hard to make big power as there aren't a lot of bolt on stuff for our motors. Probably have to go supercharger for big gains.

So I should go SCT Tuning over VMP Tuning?

I wish my truck had the 6speed tranny and the 3.73 gears like yours lol

You guys suggest any superchargers I should look into?

No lie man, the 6r80 6 speed is the difference as to why the 04-08 trucks are so "slow" and the 09-10 and up are alot "faster" dont say its not, me and a buddy did a run at the 1/4 strip a while back he had a 2008 5.4 3v 4speed with a shaker hood cold air and magnaflow exhaust, me in my 2010 5.4 3v 6r80 with nothing done to it, killed that 08!! By a good bit

Ok, I stand corrected but I was under the assumption that he wanted bolt on power as a newbie. The things you mention will have the truck down and the motor torn apart.

Thanks for all the replies! I was thinking maybe a turbocharger? I heard they improve gas mileage and have some nice HP & Torque gains?

I don't think I would be able to rip apart the motor because I do drive this truck daily to & from work 5 days a week. I know I made a mistake because my dad always told me, you can't work on a car and drive it too. lol
