Need Helping Purchasing New/Used F-150

I need to purchase a pickup and F150 is the choice. Not to sure if I should get the 2011 FORD F150 XLT 4x4 Supercab or a Brand New 2013 XLT EcoBoost
Here are the specs for the 2011:
Local 1 owner.
Kilometers: 70,817 KM - 43k Miles
3.7L 6 cylinder 6 speed automatic
Power windows,locks,doors & mirrors.
Air conditioning,cd player, hard top tonneau cover.
Comes with a rubber bed mat and tail-gate assist.
Factory Warranty remaining up to 100,000kms
$22,000
Please, any help would be great!

Significant difference is the motor, do you need the towing capability of the ecoboost or not? Do you need/want 4wheel drive?
Other significant difference is price, 2013 probly 2wice the cost of the 2011. If finances is the hurdle, I know a guy who knows a guy that knows Guido who can fix you up with a deal you can't refuse.

You need to weigh all the pros and cons. Big pro is the cost difference and the balance of the warranty. With the used truck, if there is anything wrong, you still have time to get things corrected. The big negative is the engine in the used truck. IMHO I would never buy a truck with a non-eco 6.
You are going to be paying double for the new truck, but you will be able to pick the options you want, not what someone else wanted.
BTW, I just paid about the same for a 2012 scab XTR with less than 6000 miles (10K Km). There are better deals out there.

If the 2011 makes more sense financially, then I would say go for it. The 3.7 seems to be a stout little 6 that is really good at doing what it's designed for. If you're just looking for a truck to do truck-things- not a bad choice.
If you're going to be pulling any significant weight though, it's not the best choice.
As for the warranty- that's a gamble. You may get the '11 and nothing goes wrong. Ever. You may get the new one and it spends 1/3 of its life in the shop with warranty work. Were it me, I'd ask myself how much that's worth. Even if a tranny goes outside warranty on the '11- you're likely still ahead of the game.

Five-0 Ret.
I owned a 3.7L SCREW for two years It is a tough little SOB, and I didn't have one minutes trouble from the thing. I will say that it did not live up to the advertised gas mileage by a long shot. In the bigger cabs the engine works pretty hard to keep them rolling. My overall avg. mpg's was approx. 16.7 mpgs over the 18,500 miles I owned the truck.
Good luck, and welcome to the forum.
