2010 crewcab fx4 4x4 fuel mileage
#11
I have had my truck less than 1 week. 1st tank, computer showed 14 even, manually calculated came to 13.3.
I am going to take it easy on the next tank and see what I can get out of it.
The truck is a screw FX4.

2010 Screw FX-4. I have 7000 miles of city and hwy driving. I consistently stay around 13.0 - 13.5 mpg. I was expecting to get around 17 or 18 but hey it is a truck.

What can you expect? Between 11 and 20 mpg.
My '09 crew 4x4 5.4L 3.73s averages 11.9 but my commute is less than 10 miles, with a 600 ft +/- elevation change (hill country).
Best tankful I ever got was a summertime road trip, northeast PA to Ocean City MD, @ 450 miles round trip. By the computer, got 18.9 mpg average going down, then settled at 18.2 mpg by the time I parked it back at home. Average speed was in the 60~65 mph range.
The 3.73s don't seem to hurt mileage at all in my experience, not until you start to run at speeds over 65~70 mph. In fact if your commute is down around 45~50 mph on typical country 2-lane roads, I'd wager the 3.73s can actually make a hair better mpg rate than higher (i.e. lower numbered) ratios, because you can get up to your cruise speed a little more efficiently from a stop, and ultimately spend more time in 6th gear (less hunting up & down between 5th & 6th on slight grade changes, etc)

My FX4 has only 4000KM and I have consistently calculated 12-14 MPG since I picked it up with 24KM on it. It is 80-90% highway driving I expect that after 10,000km the mileage will get better...I HOPE!
Remember it's winter though...expect at least 2-3 mpg drop.
