Default 2010 Chrome Package Help

This topic may have been discussed but I can't seem to find the answers anywhere. I recently bought a 2010 F150 crew cab and it came with the chrome package. Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of chrome at all. It came with the 18 inch chrome clad wheels, as well as chrome side steps and chrome door handles. I've sold the side steps but I'm looking to see what my chrome clad wheels are worth.

Also, does anyone have suggestions as to how I could get black door handles? Dealership quoted 110$ a door plus labor but I'm not sure if thats worth it. Can you paint chrome?

Bottom line is I want the chrome off and replaced with simple rims and black door handles, if anyone has an economical way of doing so please inform me. I'd be willing to trade potentially if convenient.

Thanks

You may want to check Tascaparts.com for prices as most dealers will not give you a deal as they are out to make money, you may also want to check aftermarket parts as well from places like RealTruck.com and TruckAddons.com. Then post your location and items for sale in the Truck/Parts Sale area of this forum.

No, you cannot paint chrome and I would not recommend even trying. Lastly, there is always someone on this forum or others that have done what you are looking to do and would be willing to give you advise on a DYI if your so inclined to do so...

It says those are covers so can I simply put those over my existing chrome handles? You can bet I'll be purchasing those!

Yeah, looks perfect and cheap too. Assuming you have the key pad!

Cool. I'm sure you can find someone that you can swap with if you search around. Of course providing you like some of the factory non-chrome rims.

I have painted buckets and handles but my truck is Dark Blue Pearl. Not sure what color you have if you want to trade.

You looking to get rid of the rims or just the snap-on plastic chrome covers (assuming that's what they are like on the Lariat)?
