2010 20" "Chrome Clad Aluminum" Wheels
So it would seem that the 20" "Chrome Clad Aluminum" Wheels as advertised in the 2010 F150 brochure are in fact NOT chrome clad aluminum, but rather chrome clad PLASTIC!
My kid was showing off to one of his friends (only 3 weeks after getting the truck) and came barreling up our driveway and goes into a rear wheel skid and SLAMS into the truck (I saw the whole thing). His rear axle contacted one of the spokes of the front drivers side wheel and made a pretty good gouge. Imagine my suprise when I saw nothing but PLASTIC beneath!
I'm thinking Ford owes me what I paid for - Real Chrome on Real Aluminum!

It actually IS what it says it is. It's a chrome clad aluminum wheel. The wheel IS aluminum and it IS clad it chrome (plastic).
The bright side is you can replace just the plastic chrome piece much cheaper than an entire wheel!

With my wife's Dodge Avenger (chrome clad just like this) they said the new chrome cover would cost around $300 instead of the insane price of a new OEM wheel. I'd recommend calling the parts department to find out for sure.

If I want new chrome, they'll only sell me a new wheel @ $700.00! (They're available on Ebay @ $400).

And no you can't just replace the chrome clad part. See post above.
