201-2014 F-150 info needed
New to site... New to ford. I've been a GMC driver for about 10 years, but am in the market for a new-to-me truck (2011-2014) and think im sold on the F150.
Any info you all would be willing to share with a prospective buyer? Have heard good things about the ecoboost, but didn't know if there are issues I should be aware of? Is the EB worth the little bit of extra money over the 5.0, is there really much difference? How about the 6.2- total gas hog, or can it be driven into the 16-17 mpg range? What real life mileage are you all seeing in these three with a relatively stock set-up, no more than leveling kit and 33-34" rubber? I'm on 285's on my '03 z71 with 5.3 and am avg around 15 mpg.
I'm looking for lariat, king ranch, and platinum editions, possibly fx4. I know the "off-road" package comes with an e locker, are regular 4x4 limited slip only? My z-71 has a locker and that's a great feature when you need it. How useful is the LS, or should I be looking for "off-road" only?
Any info is appreciated. Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the forum
Loaded question I'll try to help Engine choice is irrelevant, they are all good.
The 6.2 will be the thirstiest where the 5.0 and Eco are very close in mpg. Both have reported issues but nothing that's a deal breaker imo Mpg is very relative to where you live, weather conditions, fuel used, and heavy throttle so answers will vary
Minor mods you want to do are fine, they will effect your gas mileage a bit
E locker is in the fx4 and an option on others, so depending what you choose it could have one
Gear ratio is also important to look out for depending on your primary use[

My real world mpg with my 5.0 is 18.5 freeway 16 around town and 10.5-12.5 pulling 19' toyhauler. Like said above all three motors are great, I love my 5.0 and it pulls great I have 3.55 gears. I haven't used my lockers yet but glad I have them it's like an insurance haha the 4x4 button will pull out towards the driver if it has the lockers just in case you want to double check the truck when you want to drive it. Good luck and good choice getting the f150 they are great trucks! Hope this helps

I have a 2013 Lariat Scab with the Eco with Max Tow and a 6.5 bed. Personally, I love it. Great power with the gear ratio and zero problems since I ordered it. I've seen a lot of intercooler issues here, but I think it was mostly on 11 and 12 models.

Kind of a big question.
The 6.2 would be my pick if I was pulling all the time or was lifted/oversized tires. Like towing 3+ days a week.
The ecoboost is great on a stock truck and had great towing but is thirsty when towing and fuel mileage drops quick with a lift or oversized tires. This is what I bought and if you love torque this is a great motor with tons of power when you want it and good mileage when you don't. And turbo whistle. This thing is like a mini diesel when towing.
The 5.0 is a good motor too. Just as good of mileage as the ecoboost but doesn't have the power. The mileage doesn't drop as quick with mods as the ecoboost though
The ecoboost has the power of the 6.2 with the fuel economy of the 5.0 (all in stock form). But as soon as you get into the boost its pretty thirsty. So it really depends your towing and mod preference which you would be best suited with. Keep in mind we are talking like 2-5 Mpg between everything here so mileage is really kind of moot. Power and sound is the real difference here.
