2009 FX4 SuperCrew and slide in camper
Has anyone put a slide in camper (truck camper) on a 2009 150 FX4 SuperCab or similar truck? (3.73, 145" wheelbase, #7200 package, short cab 6.6ft)
I am planning to put on a 1680lbs slide in camper, which the truck should handle, but I get conflicting results about how much I can put on. Some dealers say up to 2400 lbs is OK, which sound pretty high.
Air bags don't increase your GVWR instead add to stability, but I always hear dealers say it does - is that right?
I would like to hear form anyone with experience, good or bad and recommendations.
Many thanks in advance.

I had a slide-in camper that weight approximately 1800 lbs that I carried on a pickup rated 8600 lbs GVWR. It was just fine on smooth terrain but you needed to crawl when moving offroad expecially when cutting your wheels. The greatest concern was having a large radiator and trans oil cooling to keep everything running cool and GOOD brakes.
Winds are also an issue and stabilizer bars are a welcome addtion. MPG will plummet so extra capacity tank(s) are advisable for any long road trips.
But it is fun!

my 09 fx4 crew with trailering package has a sticker on the drivers door that says combined weight of payload and occupants should never exceed 1175lbs.
With that said I have firestone airbags and have carried much more than that on more than one occasion without even feeling like there's a load.
I also have a 1800lb slide in camper I'll be puting in there.
By the rating if I had 5 full size people in the truck I couldn't put anything in the box? Azif.
I guess with the added weight of my 6" lift ( a few hundred lbs) and the weight of my 35" tires (couple hundred lbs) I couldnt' even fill all the seat belts LOL.

except the suspention and tire weight dont have anything to do with payload, that would be the springs and axles. lol
