really shouldn't matter, even summer tires in 4x4 would drive fine in 4" of snow

Depends. And seeing how he is in Kentucky, I'm curious if its powder or wet snow.

Don't forget about my wife's Trailblazer that I used...it's got BFGoodrich tires that aren't even that aggressive and drove where the truck couldn't!

Just wanted to make sure you weren't driving on some s**ty tire or bald ones. Wouldn't be the first time some one says they can't move in snow and then we find out they have horrible tires or they're bald. lol

I wouldn't think you would need the 4x4 mode in 4" of snow.

I think it's a vacuum leak in the front hubs too, I have a 2010 lariat 4x4 that's been great in the snow. How many miles on your truck?

When it snows in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky we need 4wd just to get "out of the holler" onto the main road. Any amount of snow...at least where I live requires 4wd to navigate in and out safely.

I've got about 72k on it.

I was touring around last night in 5 inches of snow with no 4x4 engaged. I think it may be the driver and the inability to drive in snow, lol
