Default 2009 f150 tires.

Hey guys, I am looking to upgrade the tires on my f150 for winter.. I have the 20" rim package and the selection is slim. The stock size is 275/55R20..and I was wondering if a 275/65R/20 tires would fit. If so would it affect the TPMS since they hold almost double the air pressure then the stock tires.

Thanks in advance.

Changing from 275/55/20 to 275/65/20 would affect your odometer and speedometer readings 6%- your speedo would be reading 6% slower than what you are actually going. Watch that.

As well, the overall height with the 65's would be 2.17" TALLER than the OEM setup!

Pressure wise, the larger tires may hold more air volume, but not more pressure. They would still hold, for example, 40 PSI, the new tires wil lhave more volume, but the pounds per square inch (or is that per cubic inch!) remains approximately the same. The TPS will still work fine.

so, would that require a lift kit? or would it be ok to just replace the stock tires with the new ones without lifting the truck?

I would assume that no lift is required, there appears to be 5" or more space between the OEM wheels and the wheel well.
