2009 cam phasers
My 2009 F150 platinum is in for cam phaser replacement on the passenger side. Was experincing a lot of noise similar to a diesel.12000 miles on it.Seems it may be a larger issue than ford is letting anyone know. The dealer is great and adressing the situation now. Also the fuel injectors are very loud to (not like new). ANY INPUT OUT THERE?

Odd! I had the same issue, only a lot sooner than you. Dealer replaced R-side cam phaser on my '09 4.6 at 600 miles. Shop did a good job (apparently, altho they had the truck 6 days) with no recurrence of the noise and no quality issues--oil leaks, etc.--so far at 2800 miles.
I only hope this isn't going to be a recurring theme every 10-15K miles. Wierd thing is that this isn't new technology for the engine. VVT has been used in the 4.6 (in other Ford vehicles) for several years now.
Good luck.

Ford/Mazda Parts guy
You occasionally get them to act up and make a lot of noise,my 04 was the first one to ever do that at my dealership.Once they had the part it took about 6 hours to put it back together.
The injectors are noisey,but i think they are 60 lb/hour injectors.....not 100% sure yet,though.

I also have a 2009 Platimum and it sounds like an exhaust leak on the pasanger side? Ford says its not an exhaust leak and the noise is ok? I dont like it at all and it gets louder under a load or right before it down shifts, i am having a chevy machanic take a look at it that i know becuase it has 80k on it so its out of warrenty. Does what im talking about sound like your noise? a ticking noise that you can hear in the cab?

I too have what almost sounds like an engine knock. 2009 xlt. Asked dealership to check and they said it's normal. Pretty sure they mentioned cam Phasers or something too. It seems it's louder when trick warms up a bit. Coils this knock or the problems you guys are talking about, result in damage and or power loss?
Thanks
