From what I understand it involves all models from 2009 - 2014.
Hers is a link to the actual TSB.

Ok, makes sense. I was going by instructions in post #4.

They are robbing him either way. If they don't know of a common failure on the most popular vehicle their company sells.. I mean, come on- that's just incompetence. Ford has issued a TSB on it! If I was a Ford tech, the very first thing i'd look at on an 09-14 that doesn't start is that fuse.

$417, $188, $86...TSBs should be performed by Ford as a warranty item. I have never had to pay for a TSB to be performed. I would be fighting the charges for sure...

I even tried to get him to cover 100% of it on the emissions warranty, which if I read at the bottom of the TSB, it should cover it. But, it is in his computer system that it did not. I did not feel like fighting it, so I paid and left.
But, yes I agree that a known issue that even Ford has documented should not cost the owner anything.
But even put that aside, $417 is insane for this repair.

Just ordered the part from ebay Ford dealer, to have just in case, less than 16 bucks shipped.

As a owner of a used 2012 for only 2 months, I'm reading about this fuse 27 problem on this and another forum at this current time.
For no more money and time as a typical DIY oil change, why isn't this TSB done as a pro-active preventative, instead of waiting until the sky falls?

Simple, higher profits for ford.
