20" Wheels - Pirelli Tires - High Speed Vibration
2010 King Ranch 4x4 5.4. When truck was brand new it had a bad vibration (flat spots apparently). Dealership replaced 3 tires. Vibration better but not gone (primarily at 70 - 80 mph). Dealer said drive it for a while, it will get better. Now at 3000 miles, it's still there and annoying as hell. With my schedule it's a real pain to take it in, but no choice at this point.
Anyone else have this issue with this wheel/tire combo?

My wife notices flat spot vibrations for a few miles, then it smooths up, this is only if it sits for a day or two without driving it?
I've read where several people have this problem with the Pirelli's.

I agree with King, stay on your dealer!
For me, I have an '09 SCrew, and I have put 9,000 miles on my Pierlli's with no issues. Not only are they a smooth ride at freeway speeds, but I live in Minnesota, and I was VERY happy with the handling & traction that I had in the snow this winter.

I have the 20" Pirelli's and I also get the vibration at first. It doesn't bother me though. The tire is just stiff when cold. Once it warms up its fine. I really like the way the Pirelli's ride/perform.
I will say my vibration only lasts for about a mile then its fine.

The Pirelli tires flat spot overnight. Not much you can do about other than get a different brand of tires. You typically have to run a couple of miles for the tires to get back to round.
Once the tires are round, they should be balanced.

I purchased a new 2010 F-150 fully loaded two days ago and started a 850 mile trip the first day. On day two at about 400 miles I stopped at the nearest ford dealer to have my tires checked for balance that is when I was made aware of a technical service bulletin addressing the vibration while accelerating or running at 70+ mph. I called the dealer where I bought the truck and made them aware of the problem, they will inspect it on monday. After finding this site I am convinced this is a common problem and they will probably not fix it. I had terrible issues with my Lincoln MKX which I traded for this $46000 truck. Dont think I will be getting any sleep tonight worring about what I have done.
