Default Uncontrolled Sudden Acceleration

Good Morning,
I heard the recall late last week of the Ford Escape and upon googleing it was amazed to see that the problem doesnt only stop with that Ford vehicle. I in turn have a 2010 Ford F150 which also has the Uncontrolled Acceleration problem. At first i thought it was me when i had my work boots on and that i maybe i had accidently touched both pedals at the same time when i was braking but recently it did it in front of a Toyota dealership picking up my wifes car and i had to jamb my foot on the brake and turn the car off to stop it from going through the showcase window. At this point it was about the 3rd or 4th time this has happened and my wife thought it was me but this time she started wondering if maybe it was the vehicle. After this latest recall i am sure it is the truck. Is there any thing Ford is doing for the F150 for this problem. Thanks for your time.

I'm not sure exactly what this is, but I've noticed on my truck that the first time I accelerate it is very "jumpy", typically after a cold start, but not always. I barely touch the throttle and it will lunge forward like I'm stomping on it. It's also only during slow speed driving under 15 mph. It doesn't happen all the time, and it's not severe enough for concern, but it is a quirky trait.

Hmmm, first post and it's related to a recall that has possible classaction lawsuits attached to it.

Sounds like a lawyer trolling for bigger classaction lawsuit audience....

If not, I have never heard of anyone having this occur, ever in their F150. I suggest taking it to your dealer right away.

You know...they never actually found any link to a mechanical/electrical problem and uncontrolled acceleration.

X2 the wording does sound odd,

so-called uncontrolled acceleration is almost always driver error.

We had that once too. It was on a late model Monte Carlo with the 3.4 V6. If we backed out of the parking space, put the car in gear it would suddenly leap out. You had to be really quick to avoid a crash. It would never do it any where else. That problem got solved when I failed to yield right of way.

Dittos from me too!! You beat me to the punch-line!!

I have always found these first-post horror stories, to be significantly suspect!

And then of course, there is the usual follow-up of support from the sock-puppet and professional concern-troll crowd.
