18" rims with larger tires
Hi guys...just picked up my 2013 FX4 on Friday and I would like to upgrade the tires to something more "truck like" than the stock Wranglers. Anyone go with a 285/65? All that size are E load range and I was hoping to stick with D range as I dont want the ride to stiffen up. I also dont want much, if any, tire sticking out beyond the wheel well.

This is a strange comparison, but it rides better then my wife's Kia Sportage. I accept that's its a truck, I think it drives great. I have been running about 42psi in them.

I am ordering Cooper ST Maxx's this week. A nice in between of an AT and MT tire. Great reviews and priced well too. Toyo is well liked as well! They were my next pick!

I'm a Jeep guy and loved my ProComps. Great tread life and great price. I went with some pretty aggressive mud terrains but their A/T are good looking too and you can usually find a deal if you buy 3 get 1 free. Also loved my Goodyear MT/R's. One of the lighter tires when I went up to 37's. Anything Nitto is usually pretty good. I tend to stay away from Toyo's. Personal preference, though. Great tire but very heavy.
