Yes I unhooked my battery, something to do with steering sensors, my AS level came with a nice set of directions. The only advice I could give would be to undo the upper sway bar links on both sides when you start.

it's only necessary to disconnect the battery on the 2011+ trucks with electric power steering assist. you have a traditional mechanical power steering pump on your 2009, so you don't have to worry about it.

So my auto spring level kit came today. In the morning I'm having it installed for $65 and then I found a groupon for an alignment that only cost me $43. Pretty stoked!!

2014 fx4..about ready to do a level..When I pull the battery cable..does anything screw up when I reconnect? My kids car had to get some code from his dealer to get his radio to work again..just want to be ready if any electronic stuff needs resetting

Your going to lose your instant fuel log, not your trip log, all of your preset radio and Sirius stations, clock, and date. Mine stayed unhooked for 3 days due to me breaking the sway bar link, ordered another through my local dealer on Monday. Don't try to over tighten they sway bar link when it bottoms out that's good trust me. A 1/2 impact WILL break the threaded end right off. That's what happens when in a hurry. All in all it's not bad at all. But you might want to read about the 14's, there a little different than 09-13.

as another member said you'll lose your radio presets and stuff, but I'm guessing your kid had either a Honda or Acura, there are a few manufacturers that put a security code in the radio to prevent theft as well as make it a ****ing pain in the *** if you buy the car used or have the radio replaced. you don't have to worry about any of that stuff with your Ford.

that's a hell of a good deal, for barely over $100 I would much rather pay someone else to deal with it.

Ok before install,I measured at just over 3' 1 1/2" now I'm at just under 3' 4".

Seems kinda high to me??!!
I bought the 2" level kit from AS Which said it would give me a 2" lift..

Thoughts

it's fairly normal, I don't know exactly why but none of these kits are perfect. I got almost exactly 3" from my 2.5" but I also added a larger rear block so it didn't bother me.
