Default '14 FX4 SCREW Ecoboost - $39k+TTL - good deal?

Hey guys. I'm in the process of buying a new F-150. I'm looking to trade in my 2005 FX4 with 124k and have been offered $9k for trade in on it. Do you guys think this is a good deal on a '14?

MSRP is $51,680. I have attached the window sticker and my truck.

Thanks!

I was back n forth with a dealer on the Appearance package version of this truck. My trade was 8500 after payoff.

I had him down to 35800 + Tax. I tried getting 34k OTD but he wouldn't go past that. I walked didn't see a need to restart my payments.

I think you can do better. MSRP on one I looked at was almost 53k.

So with the trade of 9k your looking at 30+TTL or is it 39+TTL with your 9k trade. If the deal is 39k+ttl with your trade walk away. If the price of the truck is 39k before the trade it's a good deal and I would do it.

Unfortunately I would have a negative $5k trade equity with that value.

So I guess I could look at it as $44k+TTL which definitely doesn't sound as appealing.

Dealers always want you to try to look at the cost of a vehicle based trade in taken off. Bottom line is this; What are they giving you for your trade, and what are they selling their vehicle for?

Each area is different, but right now, a lot of left over FX4s have several thousand in discounts/incentives. For instance, at my local dealer, they are only offering only 4250 incontives on the higher end trucks, V8s etc. They just have less of them and they "hold their value" a little better.

The Ecoboost FX4s are in a pretty big abundance in a lot of areas though. Most deals in my area are giving anywhere from 6-8k in discounts and rebates on them. It wouldn't hurt to look around a bit. I don't know what it's like around you, but around the Houston area, there are literally hundreds of F150s to choose from.

Not a big selection in my area. They will do the same offer on a 5.0 they have in stock too. I only drove the ecoboost tonight, but will drive the 5.0 tomorrow. I may just have to tell them my OTD price and interest rate I want, and walk if they can't do it. I don't NEED a new truck right now, but dang I'd like one.

My deal several months ago was very similar to yours...roughly $53K sticker, got $9 for trade, paid $39K out the door. What alot of people forget when calculating is the sales tax which can throw off the numbers when trying to compare...about $3.4K in my case. I was happy with the deal I got and very happy with my new truck. If I had been in a state that had no sales tax my price was basically $35,600 OOD.

I might buy a FX4 today and your deal is about $1000 better than mine. However, yours is a screw and mine would be a supercab. This is the best deal I could find without driving an hour away. Which i might still do if they don't come down a tad more.
