Default 120V used for a space heater?

Hey all, First f-150 owner, first truck owner, God it's good to be alive.

Was wondering what peoples experience using a space heater plugged into the 120v was. I work 24 hour shifts on an ambulance and was thinking I could set up a very small space heater for to keep my dog warm if I have to take her to work. I would prop a milk crate over it for safety and obviously vent windows. Would this kill my battery in one night?

Please don't take your dog to work.

I doubt the power inverter that is in the truck could handle the load of a space heater.

Yes it would kill your battery overnight, also probably kill your dog once the battery dies. Or when he tips it over, even under a milk crate, and catches the truck on fire.

Leave your dog at home, safe and sound.

I used to use a sm space heater in my car in the Winter -on a timer it would kick on 1 hr before I left for work
-But it was plugged into household current, never anybody/an animal inside
My wife used a small Auto Vac to clean her car & killed her battery in about an hour
---this while parked in the driveway 10' from an outlet

I'd think most animals can survive cold weather, maybe not single digits for a long period

If you are cold, your dog is cold as well. Some breeds are well suited for the cold. Most are not

Will your chief let you keep the dog in the bay?
