It's the blower motor resistor. It's a really easy diy fix...just make sure you get the right part. There is a manual resistor for about $20 that most places stock, and then there is the automatic one for ~$65....if you go to the dealer make sure they price-match. The resistor is behind the glove box...two small bolts, 8mm socket or wrench and unplug it.
My truck is an 09 F150 Lariat w/ dual ac, *automatic* temp control. I had the same problem, and found a few threads on this. The original part in my truck was 9L34-19E624-AC. The new part no. is 9L3Z-19E624-B. Motorcraft is YH-1827. I got my new part from O'Reilly's...PN RU1266, $64.99 +tax.
Do this yourself...$65 and 10 minutes later it is good-to-go. Take it to your dealer and they'll probably get 3x that out of you.

Update July 2020...the oreilly resistor only lasted about 2 yrs. I’ve read a fair amount that the off-brand parts don’t seem to last and that motorcraft is the way to go, so that’s what I did. Upon further research, the motorcraft part # is YH-1829 (they’re probably the same). $56 on Amazon. Hope this one last longer...will update again if it doesn’t.

For mine I just typed "2009 f150 blower motor resistor" on YouTube and a quick DIY vid popped right up.
