Just bought a 2015 F-150 and gonna head over to pick it up on Wednesday and really want a cover to store some of my hunting clothes and gear. I have read that this cover is not 100% waterproof and just want to make sure the little it does leak will not be enough to ruin the contents inside.
Also, how much room is needed towards the front of the bed for it to open unobstructed?
Thanks in advance

The amount of water that gets into the bed is a function of time. You will get some drips along the edges where our guide rails seal to the panels. Over time drips add up, so if the truck is parked all day in a steady rain you'll notice more water along the edges of the bed. When you're traveling, virtually no water will get into the bed since it runs off the cover or is blown off by the wind. Our cover is completely flat front-to-back, so it sheds water very well.
For the way most of our customers use their truck beds, they're happy with the water protection a Peragon cover offers. We are careful though to make sure our customers know up front that our cover is not waterproof. (No retractable or folding cover is.) If you have sensitive gear like electronics or tools that you're hauling, a few dollars invested in Rubbermaid style totes will keep your gear organized, clean and bone dry.
When our cover is retracted, the panels will hang down about 12" from the top of your bed and come back about 6" from the front of your bed. So items short enough to allow about 12" clearance to the top of your bed could be loaded all the way to the front.
The panels "fan" out a bit as you pull our cover closed and the panels extend over the bed. It's best to watch it in action by checking out our videos where you can see the cover operate from multiple angles. This will give you a good idea of how much total room the cover needs to operate.
If you load shorter items toward the front and taller items toward the tailgate, you can still make good use of most of your bed capacity. When you're just putting a few items in the bed, an expandable cargo bar can help manage cargo to keep open the area where our cover retracts. They are relatively inexpensive and having one in your truck bed comes in handy for other uses too.

Extang encore tonneau fold but it locks and unlocks at the front so you can access those items that always end up there. Takes 5 minute to remove if not needed beats te old soft roll up and I still have all my bed space.
