Its exactly like the red one in the second video I posted, except it is prepainted gloss black from my supplier. The dash piece has to be removed for the ipad to slide in and out. I modify the dash so that it can be removed without talking any of the other dash pieces or screws off, but it's still not the best for a frequent removal option

Is it possible to do this without the USB ports from the Sync? Mine just has the AUX in.

Yes it is. The easiest and best way is to use the HRT iStreamer, but a usb to rca conversion will also work

I had an idea today but not sure how it would work on the building side can you do a ipad mini custom mount in a 2013 f150 in the space under the radio buttons down to the console like a 45 degree mount?

Yeah, I definitely could. The tricky part would be doing it without a truck to use as a reference tho.. I would need a cardboard template or something to use as a guide
