IPAD, Ipad Air, and Ipad mini Dash mounts for all models!

So I am officially a site vendor, and ipad dashes are ready to be built and sold!!!

These pieces are hand built, custom made for each ipad, vehicle, and owner preferences. They can be made from scratch, or put together using Soundmanca.com ipad kits. Here are a few options for mounting:

The top slider: Full sized and Ipad Air only. The ipad is built on a spring loaded base that will help it be removed from the top as shown in the video below. The ipad can also be slide up by hand, without the spring loaded base.

The standard way: Behind the dash. The ipad is mounted behind the radio bezel, and can be slid out by partially removing the bezel. This can be seen on the red piece in the video

The Slider: The slider is a pan that is molded into the dash, where an ipad mini or a full sized can be set into the pan, then slid into a connector to be docked. this is also shown in the video above. the dash piece itself does not need to be removed or touched to remove the ipad, making this a great option for frequent removal

The Float Mount: This is similar to the slider, but the ipad is dropped into the pan and held in place with magnets. No sliding motion, no dock connector. Designed to be used with Bluetooth Audio Stream, which can be added to almost any vehicle. This kit allows for the fastest removal og the ipad.. (video coming soon)

FAQs

What does this mod cost?
The 09-13 standard mount in gloss black costs 150+ shipping. If another color is desired, it can be done for 50-100$. A behind the dash installation for the Ipad Air or standard large Ipad Costs about $450-$650. The Soundman Slider and Soundman Float mount costs $650. Prices change according to buyers specifics, so a pm is always the best way to get an accurate quote.

Can a piece be shipped unfinished?
Yes. If the buyer wants the piece unpainted for vinyl wrap or Hydro dip, or if they want to paint it themselves, this can be done and will save the buyer anywhere from 50$-100$

How does the ipad connect to the truck?
On the 09-14 models, the ipad can be connected simply by inputting the USB cable into the USB input. Sync will treat it as an external hard drive and take all media information from it. On any other model, it can be added to the truck through a Aux Input, though additional hardware is required to go from USB to an Aux In.

Will my steering wheel controls and/or Sync still work?
Yes. The steering wheel controls and sync retain full function.

What is done with the factory headunit?
For the 09-14 crowd, the factory headunit stays in the dash, hidden behind your new ipad dash. By keeping it inside the truck, the steering wheel controls, sync, satellite radio, etc. will still work as it did before. for other years, this can still be done with the factory unit, or an after market headunit.

What happens to the original radio controls?
Most people will take the controls and move them to the glovebox. that way the clock, radio presets, and bluetooh options can still be changed.

Can the ipad mod be done to the new models with a 4.2" screen?
The answer is actually yes. The downside is that there is currently nobody selling the factory dash piece, so the customer's dash piece would be needed.

How long do these take to build?
Each piece is hand made, which means they do take some time to build, however build time has been reducing which each piece being made. The 150$ ipad mini kits can be shipped within 1 week of purchase, sometimes within 36 hours. The Soundman kits and other custom builds take anywhere from 2-4 weeks. I try to keep parts and kits in stock, however these pieces get delayed from the suppliers who make them which creates a large gap in my time frame. This is why it can take awhile to build.

Do you ship to Canada?
Yes. Ive sent at least 8 of these to Canada already, though shipping tends to be another 20 dollars.

Can this be built for other models?
Yes. I can do this for your 69' Camaro, Honda Civic, Mustang.. Almost anything can be done, not just F150s.

Can the Ipad be used for a back up camera?
Yes. A company has just created a back up camera that can be used with the ipad without an internet connection. It costs about 120$.

Can these dash kits be built for any tablet besides Apple?
Yes. I can order perfect 1:1 replicas of almost any tablet and build my dash piece around that. Prices for these other brands are similar if not the same to the ipad pieces.

Is there a warranty?
I warranty my pieces to be free from defects for 30 days. If there are any defects in the paint, adhesives, or anything similar they appear within 1 or 2 weeks generally. Send it back, I will fix it and refund your shipping. I have already had to fix a couple and I stand by my work. I will NOT be held responsible for damage due to improper installation. I've had people try to force the piece in place (because theyre installing it wrong) and break it. That's not my workmanship failing, however I will fix it if they send it back and pay for the shipping.

OK, Im convinced. How do I get started?
I require a 50% deposit for any tablet build, except for the 150$ kit which is to be paid in full at the time of purchase. Payment sent via Paypal.

If someone with only a wifi IPad mini wanted one of these, then basically I would need to tether my iPhone to act as a hotspot right?

Exactly. I run a Wifi only ipad in my truck, but after awhile I noticed that I rarely use the wifi anymore. when I get home, the ipad connects to my home wifi and syncs my files up with the cloud, and I downloaded my navigation maps so that I can use them offline.. so that pretty much does it for me!

I have a 2010 Lariat with wood grain trim, do you know any people that can factory match the wood grain on your kits?

yes, I have several companies that can wood grain my piece. After I build it, I send it to them and you deal with them directly. Its usually around 75$

Do you have any pictures of your pieces with the wood grain done to them.

Hmmm.. I don't think so. I've only ever had one guy do wood, everyone else wanted like carbon fiber or something.. but I'll double check

IPad mini side slider.

How much would a non painted iPad mini side slider for a 2013 xlt with the 2011-12 style radio cost?
