Hi. There has been a few questions (PM's calls) about why we decided to use a resonator instead of a muffler. It all starts with the natural engine harmonic od the V6 twin turbo that inherently wants to sound like a lawnmower once you open up the exhaust. We have some beautiful 4" mufflers with our Mach84, Mach46 and STM40. We use one of these mufflers with great success on any 4" system that comes to our shops. One or all (depending on what you are putting them on) always sound great. It's usually not that hard to get most 4" systems to sound good with these mufflers. The Ecoboost is definitely a different animal. Each of our "normal" mufflers were either too quiet or terrible sounding. When we say terrible we mean unsellable terrible. Thinking outside the box we tried our MR400 resonator and it made it almost perfect. We then dialed in the J-Pipe to take away the remaining drone points and we were finally very happy with the performance and overall exhaust note. Deep, rich, mean and aggressive with no trouble RPM ranges or drone. Free flow is free flow no matter if it is a muffler or a resonator. In this case it happened to be the resonator that worked so of course that was what we used. Thanks so much for all the 4" single purchases so far. Can't wait for you guys to get them on and start enjoying going Solo!

to those one the fence about getting a solo system, heres my experience.

got home at 330, and at 430, the mr400 was on and running.

no lift, not even jackstands. I was able to change the entire system, no sawzall, with tires on the ground. fit perfect. the hardest thing was getting the flex pipe from the rest of the exhaust. and soap on the hangars is a must. even with 6600 miles, there was some corrosion. ill place blame on our indiana winters and the salt.

now for the sound. its got a nice rumble. pretty much exactly how solo presented it in their videos. imagine a dark blue plasma scab instead of the white truck, and bingo, theres what it is, lol.

im extremely happy. i know i would have been just as happy with the duals, but i liked the look of stock but bigger. theres no doubt the reputation they have from the g8 forums is well warranted, so thanks to everyone at solo for putting out a great fitting system, especially in a such a short timeframe. i gotta get ready and take the beast for a drive. translation.... its friday, and i promised my girlfriend i'd take her out to dinner. (clarification...the beast is my truck. my girlfriend is lovingly called my midget.) what a better way to test it out.

thanks again!

Thanks for the info Prime! Mine is set to get here on Monday and was hoping not to have to get the sawzall out if I didn't have to. Sounds like it's a pretty easy bolt up and the stock exhaust comes off pretty easily. Hopefully I will have just as much success in getting it easily removed and installed

Prime8 your truck looks good with that monster tip back there! All of you other guys that are waiting for your kits to show are in for a real treat! It's great to see some product getting into people's hands! I've had a Solo kit (single then dual) on my truck (the white one in the vid) for about a month or so now. It's about time for others to experience them so it's not just me flapping my gums about how much I like it, and nobody to back me up.

On a further note...I've been able to put a bunch more miles on the dual kit in the last while. If I'm not mistaken, the sound has deepened even further than it already had. It now is, to me, indistinguishable from the signal in terms of depth of sound...in the cabin. I haven't had a chance to hear it from outside in a couple a weeks. It dose not sound the same as the single, but is as deep. If that makes any sense.

Just an update.

Mine just showed up today and HOLY CRAP this exhaust HUGE!!!!!

I'll be installing tomorrow and if this exhaust is anything like the G8 exhaust I had of theirs, this will be a smooth and perfect fit.

Thanks guys!
