Hey, we all gotta start learning somewhere! Only dumb question is the one not asked.
What do tuners do basically? = SCT's handheld performance increase your vehicle's horsepower, torque and throttle response by optimizing your vehicles PCM (engine management computer)
Yes, you can use a SCT unit to remove your speed limiter, adjust for bigger tires ( so your speedo isn't off ), gear ratio changes ( in case you step up to steeper gears to compensate for bigger tires, read and clear check engine lights, and adjust a variety of engine parameters as well.
Far as user friendly use, yes it's VERY easy to use. Far as tuning a truck, you literally just plug it into your OBII port under your dash, selecet Program Vehicle, follow a couple on screen prompts, and within about 5 minutes, the SCT unit will reprogram your PCM in the truck. Unplug and done!
Far as warranty, I copied this right off the SCT website. Short answer is no, but some Ford dealerships ARE more picky then others far as warranty work. I would suggest calling them if concerned about that and asking, making sure to mention if they automatically say No, if they are aware of the Magnuson Moss act. Not all dealers really know the finer print of these things.
The simple answer is no, unless the manufacturer of the vehicle can prove SCT's product has damaged the vehicle. In fact, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prohibits the manufacturer from doing so. For more information on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, below are a few articles relating to this topic:

Actually there is a flip chip made for the OBI systems. It's an actual chip that needs installed and not just a PCM reflash. I don't carry them as hardly any demand for it but if you look around online, sure you could find somebody who still carries them. Link below is what you would be wanting.
