Upper Steering column shroud removal

I have seen where it is recomended to mount the LED for the VSS on the upper steering column shroud.
Can anyone direct me to info on removing the shroud?
Do I just unscrew the 2or3 bolts on the underside & lift the top half off??

Also thinking about mountain my led there. But also thinking where the panel for the speed adaptive (I think it's called) would be if one had that.
