So the goal for the vendors on Black Friday and Cyber Monday is to lose money on every sale? Because that's what your suggestion would equate to for us.
We sell at employee pricing every day of the year which means that after credit card fees we typically make about 5-10% on any given sale. That 5-10% then has to cover the expenses involved in running the operation. If we were selling at retail pricing and making 40-60% on every sale it would be a different story.
I wish we could offer bigger discounts for these sales but the only way that could happen would be if we raised our prices the rest of the year just in order to make these sales look more impressive.
I could be wrong but my guess is that most people would prefer us to keep our normal low prices the rest of the year.
