Default In your opinion, what is the best truck for strictly off roading?

I drive a 2000 on 37s and It's just not something I want to off road often. I've already broken a few things on it and it's my daily driver so I really don't like breaking it and having it sit around until it can get fixed. I want something cheap, easy to find, easy to lift and easy to fix. I'd prefer something with a straight front axle. Whatever I decide on I'm gonna try and get early next year, but I like to start my research early. I was thinking a 70s F-150 or Bronco,or if I can find an 80s-90s F250/350 I'd be alright, but I want your opinions on what the "best" would be. I'll mostly be playing in the mud and will be running at minimum 35s.

You're definitely on the right track thinking straight front axle. If go bronco try to find either a 78 or a 79 D44 front and a 9 inch in the rear. Those were probably the best years for that's me also the last years of the straight axle.
F150 used straight axles up until 79 as well so anything up to that would work good.
As far as f250's go wouldn't the weight hurt you in the mud? Also they probably cost more and the parts are harder to find.
Other than that I'd say get something with a manual trans, other than the fact that it'll be more fun to drive it will probably also be more durable.

Find yourself a Highboy. They're awesome, I love mine. Solid axles, heavy duty everything, back when trucks were trucks.

Best off road pick-up? Hands down a Yota for it's smaller size and durability for the tightest of trails. Find an old straight axle and you'll be good. Better yet, send it to diesel toys (http://dieseltoys.com/) out where I live in San Antonio, and let them hook you up with a small Toyota 4 cyl turbo diesel to make it the ultimate off road trail pick-up.

If it has to be a pickup I'd also vote for a Yota... light weight and still easy to swap stuff into.
If not, Jeep - Hands down owns the aftermarket ... Nothing gets as much support as the Jeeps do...

Solid axles . Upgrades are available everywhere you look...

Get a CJ ,YJ or TJ and you can tow it to play .

grab a late 70's to 87 chevy k20, they are the only nice looking chevys around beside some of the old muscle cars. Plus parts are dirt cheap. or find a old highboy if you wanna stay ford.
