Winch thread

My friend has a 2013 with a 9000# Ramsey winch mounted with the Rough country Hidden kit. It worked great the 2 times I saw him use it. He actually had to pull the truck sideways a bit to get out of a really bad situation. it did great.
You can barely tell it's there, except he has the fairlead rollers, that make it a little more conspicuous.
I helped him install it, and it was easy. The only downfall is that you have to open the hood to release the clutch so the winch can freespool, and to connect the remote cable. That's not a huge deal if you're an infrequent user, and it's the price you pay for a hidden winch. If I were going to use the winch a lot, I'd opt for one on a grill guard out front though.

Harbor freight 12k winch. I've used it a couple dozen times. Paid for itself the first use
