What do you all think of this idea?

I hardly ever go off road, I have taken people with me but no other vehicles.

I just want something to get me out if I have to.

you better be on some serious steroids or have a bed full of ****** blocks if you want to use a come along to pull out your truck..
winch, works for me. 15000 lb capacity, add in a ****** block to double it, theres nothing stopping me from getting out.

I would ratehr use the hi lift jack, but the pin shears at 7000 pounds. The truck alone is 7200 +passengers +gas +whatever else.

I dont want to be out there with the hi lift and shear a bolt and be stuck and have broken equipment.

An electric winch is my first choice, but for cost reasons, mounting reasons, and the lack of use, I can not justify to myself buying something like that....

Maybe I will find a deal I can not pass up and get a winch with hidden mount (I dont want to show off the winch, I would want a clean look).

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions

as much as it pains me to refer to a use that a new bumper is not needed for....lol....Warn has the hide a winch setup for your truck....it will hide behind the factory bumper....but it will "F" up the truck in an accident, but you will love life if you get stuck offroad....here's ebay for you....part number is 69110 from warn

Buy a receiver mount winch then mount a front receiver and wire the wires to front and rear receivers for the ability to winch front or back.

I did not know that there was a such thing as receiver winch. That is pretty cool....but still VERY pricey.
