Default Which Winch

Say that a few times in a row!

I want to put a winch on the front of my rig. Never had a truck winch and looking at Warns website there are all kinds available. I do not plan on doing alot of use more of "need it and have it" kinda of thing. Plus I like the looks of it sitting on the front. So I was thinking of the 9500# size with the compressor, can not remember the model. For those of you that have them let me know some info.

I would get one that has a pulling strength of at least 150% the weight of your truck. You won't regret getting a stronger one, I'd rather have the capability and use it once, than have one that's to weak and have it broke and me still stuck. Just my .02

A 9500 pound will work, again have and not need theory says get a 12,000 pound. But you have the half theory also, double line pull rates it up to 19,000 pounds. Whats that mean half theory? You can double your pulling strength by using a ****** block. But you have to have enough cable or rope to attach to something that wheighs more than your truck weight plus the stuck factor. But I wander off track to easy, anyway 9500 pounds should be more than enough with proper equipment, mounts and friends.. Also please include a camera in your winch kit so someone else can take pictures so we can laugh and enjoy your stuck....

I looked a little more at them online and I could go with a 12k model for a little more $. This is something I may do 3,4,5 years down the road just research for now. Thanks

I think it is bad *** when the car ahead of you looks in their rear view and sees this coming up from behind!
