where can I get off road tires that wont break the bank?
I just picked up a 06 f150 xl 4x4. Threw on a 3in front 1in rear leveling kit, flowmaster exhaust and an intake. When I bought it it had big 20in tall 11.5in wide wheels on it, Now sporting goodyear eagle gt2`s, not exactly the off road tire of the year...not really an off road tire at all, and only 28in tall really wanna go to a 33in tire. The biggest problem is a nice off road tire that size is like $350 per tire...I cant exactly afford that. Is there anywhere to get a nice off road tire that size for under $200 per tire? I considered trying to find someone with factory wheels that would want to trade and then throw some meaty tires on the stock wheels. Any advice would be appreciated.

I got 305/75/16 Hankook Mud Terrains for $115 a peice through a local St.Louis dealer. Call around your local area tire dealers. Plus, online, if you find a decent tire, you're gonna get charged around $80 for shipping.

countryboy13 has 35s on stock rims and says they only rub on full lock.. i suggest waiting till you get some extra cash and getting some toyo MTS from rimzoneonline.com or truckaddons.com for about 300 bucks a tire.. they seem to be really good... also heard great things about nitto trail grapplers around 250 or 260 for 18s

Check out eBay. Many people get their new trucks and immediately put new wheels/tires on them, so their are alot of wheel/tire sets for $500-1000. 20" wheels aren't really the best for offroading. Once you got some new ones, you could sell the 20" ones for big $$$ and prob not be too deep in the hole at all.

Good luck, my truck has the Harley Davidson 20's on it, and I've been looking for a deal on 35's for about a year now. I'm gonna get some 33's, and not take such a ram in the rear on them. I did find a deal on Cooper Zeon LTZ's locally, just under $200 each. Not too bad pricing, but I really had my heart set on 35's...

You can get fantastic deals on military surplus tires if you shop around a bit, many times the tires have almost no wear at all.
Just an example, these start at about 50 bucks used, or $250 new.
