few things to point out;
using just the hitch pin isn't a good idea. unless your strap is the same width as the hitch it's in place of, it can cause the pin to deform and fold in the middle which then turns it into a projectile if/when it fails.
if you're wrapping a strap around the frame, your strap isn't going to last long. after a few pulls it will fray, or wear out (where it pinches/wears on the frame) and then it's not longer as strong as it was originally rated.
if you don't have any tow points, get some. will make your life much simpler next time.
