Search for bubba rope on the Internet. It's like a really thick bungee chord so you can use the weight of your truck to pull somebody else out of the mud. I've never used one but if I did some serious offroading that's what I'd use. Not cheap though.

What you really need to consider is whether you want a tow strap or a recovery strap. One has a little more stretch to it for snatching. The other doesn't stretch so much when putting a load on it.

I keep a 1 inch think rope in my toolbox on my truck. My buddy gave it to me, his dad used it to tear down trees since he had a tree service company. Rope is the best its a lot stonger than those cheap straps and you can tie it different ways to tow someone.

Lol that's why you don't use cheap straps. I personally use rope too but the straps I use as a rigger at work 4" wide x20' are tough straps. They are cfm rigging monster straps. Super strong. If you want huge breaking strength in a strap/ sling get an " endless" or gromet sling. Extremely strong

Yea I just seen some big straps used and they always end up tearing or breaking somehow. Don't buy those walmart yellow ones lol, those are made to tow a atv lol, my buddy bought one for his truck and it broke the day we used it. If your a hard *** get that tug boat rope lol.

True on the recovery strap.
Also buy the proper size strap. Bigger is NOT better. A properly sized strap will allow the right amount of stretch and protect the vehicles. Too high of a weight rating will not stretch properly and that yank energy will be transferred into the vehicles. This can also cause a violent yank that can injure the vehicle occupants. This proper stretch will cushion and store that energy to be smoothly released to yank the rig out of what it is stuck in.

(tow ropes/tow straps/chains don't stretch and can cause damage)
