rough old shape... but it's a Warn, and if you're willing to take the time and effort to clean it up and get it back in tip top shape it shouldn't let you down, for years to come.
you can buy everything you need to rebuild it from Warn, maybe get it blasted and repainted too. it also wouldn't be a bad idea to remote mount the new solenoid to keep it out of the weather/road spray/salt/etc. simple thing to do, especially since you will need new cables. get things where you want them, then measure for new cables and run them... I did that with my off road Jeep.
lastly, as suggested earlier, you would be far better off finding a good tree saver strap (4" or wider), a pulley block, and a few good D shackles to connect everything safe & securely. the pulley block will let you x2 your line pull (effectively 16,000lbs) which will make the winch work 1/2 as hard... but it is also 1/2 as slow.
good luck, that's a good winch for the money.

Honestly I would have reccomended a 12k lb winch because even though you can double the pull with a ****** block sometimes that isn't feasible and you need to account for the suction mud may apply when you are really stuck.
Also take into consideration, just because you double the pull rating of the winch itself with a ****** block etc. you aren't increasing the pull strength of the cable itself. So when purchasing a cable keep that in mind so that you may compensate for when you find yourself in a bad situation where you don't have enough winch.
Good luck! That's quite a steal for a Warn winch!
