i have a ford 9" in the rear and was planing on runing 3.89 gear with a detroit locker and i soon need to change the gear out of the front dana 44 what gear ratio should i go with in the front. Because i cant find a 3.89 gear for the dana 44 please.

I believe (not 100% tho) that if your going to run 4x4 you should have have the same gears in the front and rear end.

bubba is right. you need to have the same gearing in both axles.
so it looks like you either have to upgrade or downgrade the rear.
Me personally i would to 4.10 all around.
