I need to update my profile because I drive an 04 (new body style). Little off topic, but what's the difference between the two body lift kits that makes $100 price bump?
Ahh, I assumed you drove that 97-03. But the only differences are that the front and rear bumper brackets are completely different. Frame ends/horns are the same though, so not sure what specifically makes the 06-08 more expensive. Wonder how bad it'll truly be putting one on my truck. Been thinking about just bucking up and doing the BL around the same time as the 6" lift. Probably won't though.

I still wouldn't ever stack blocks, just not a good idea. It's not as bad for slow gas trucks, but the dumbasses that stack blocks on diesels . . . no thank you. Skyjacker has a 4" soft-ride AAL that I'll be getting if I don't replace the leafs altogether. Mine are lopsided and squished from towing as it is.

Yeah.. I'd never stack blocks... Ridiculous for anyone to even recommend that.. Still pretty dangerous if you offroad or not...

A lot of lift kits don't come with full replacement blocks.

Thank you. Took the words out of my mouth. Extremely dangerous to stack blocks. That's an axle to truck separation accident waiting to happen.

Very true, but doesn't make it right haha. I still think that the alignment pins should be taller, and the entire diameter of them and the width of the blocks wider.

Hey I was looking at the BDS website and according to their site stock 18s and 20s fit "with stock tires". I'd assume that's more for liability so somebody doesn't put on huge tires then complain about rubbing or not fitting, but I've always heard rancho is the only one that will fit stockers on after the lift.

to my knowledge no one makes a kit any more that allows you to keep your stock wheels because of the new steering knuckles (rancho did have one) the rancho IMO was nice because the drip bracket was one piece and ford uses their shocks as an upgrade option on the superduties so I assume that has to speak towards their reputation . zone and rcx both have you stacking block with their kit but you could get 2 inches (which is the additional block length for those kits) with an AAL or get some replacement leafs that will do away with blocks completely. Ihave the RCX sitting in my garage while i consider rear lift options... heavily leaning towards replacement leafs to have no blocks at all

All the ones I remember looking at say "cannot use stock/OEM wheels with oversized tires." Which indicates that you can use the stock 31-32" stock tires and be alright, but no 35s, or even anything that's wider than stock 275s.

But honestly, lifting the truck and not getting bigger tires is a complete waste (unless you plan on getting wheels and tires down the road but want to get the lift out of the way) and just makes the truck looks worse, in my opinion.

Rancho is the only one that's found a way to design the lift to accommodate full 35s on stock wheels. But, of course, we can't have those anymore lol.
