Default Old tire trick

Anyone every used a tire to get pulled out by your buddy who can't pull you out alone????

Here's what you do. Your stuck and your buddy can't get traction to pull you out or he gets to close and gets stuck also. Grab 2 chains and put tire between them and the trucks. Have your buddy back up and gun it. He won't be able to pull you out...but the tension that gets absorbed in the stretched tire will.

P.S. make sure there is some slack in the chains before he guns it. Kind of defeats the purpose if not. Won't rip off your bumper or hitch but just might pull you out.

'04 True Blue FX4 Screw
Options: Moon roof/ Reverse sensing/ Audiophile w/sub/ power rear window/
MODS: Roush charger/ True duals-dumped/ 20" DEJ Black Chrome tanks/305-55-20 Cooper Zeon/ Custom Gauge pod/Leather throughout/Leveling kit/

When i come to a rut i cant go around and im unsure about it, i kick it and ****** the wheel to throw the back tires in the rut but the front stays high and dry, the tires bite more on the edges of the rut and you dont high center as much. its pretty fun to ride a long rut out sideways! Other than that ol red and them swampers aint never let me down.

it's un-practical to haul sand ladders around but we always carry a couple of those 2ft. wide carpet runners for sand and silt. we also prefer hoes to shovels or a combination of both for sand and silt. sometimes it's easier to drag the sand out than it is using a shovel to dig the sand out. hi lift is a no brainer. just jack it up as high as possible and push it off the jack onto something with more substance. be careful with hi lifts though cause you could be stuck in utah and end up in colorado. and be sure to keep em' cleaned and lubed. they just won't work at all when they're dirty. we race with an aluminum harbor freight race jack with a big *** flat aluminum base welded to it. we fabbed up an extention that goes on top of the jack contact deal that gives us 6 more inches to work with. a big scissor jack is what some guys are using in desert racing. they weld on a nut on the big acme threaded screw [usually the same size as their lug nuts] and use a 24volt impact to raise and lower the thing. works great. no winch? bring a good comealong . they're cheap. don't be afraid to air the tires way down. alot of times you can drive it out. don't do stupid s--t that'll surely get you in trouble unless you have a lot of friends with you. then it's fun. don't go out alone but if you do, tell someone where you're going and what day or time you'll be back. you can't have a tow strap or good rope that's too long. it's impossible. a sat phone or good radio is desireable. you guys should also do a search on "spot tracker". this little yellow tracker lets your people know exactly where your at and they're really affordable. wouldn't go out without one. check it out. they rock. sometimes the best tool in your bag is $$$. that's huge in mexico for instant help. but really, the best tool is your brain. if you get stuck, study what needs to be done with what's available then think it out and git at it. happy trails teenagers. and please be safe and don't make your mamas cry. feliz ano nuevo or happy new year everyone.

every now and then , your best solution is a good insurance policy, about a half pint of gas and a book of matches.

the harbor freight jack we use is an aluminum racing floor jack. we took the wheels off and mig welded a big piece of T6 3/16 inch plate that's broader all the way around to make it stable. the problem with that though, is on concrete, when you jack the rig up, the wheels on the jack will roll toward the jack point. the floor jack won't roll at all with the bigger flat base so what you really want to is just take the load off and dig it out. at harbor freight, they do sell hi lift knock off style jacks, and they're prolly ok but they only have one size i think. with limited jacking points, you'll need the longest hi lift they make because if you only have the bumper or dedicated hooks or something it won't jack high enough for the travel you have. you jack it all the way up and your tires are still on the ground. sometimes if you just take the load of the tire and wheel, you can dig down to get it off. i've got a couple of the real ones at off road warehouse but i can't remember how much they were. search ORW or harbor freight online. the base on the hi lift has holes already there to bolt on a larger platform. you don't need to weld. just a piece of 3/16ths flat bar wide enough to overlap the width of the existing one. drill two or three holes in the flat bar and just bolt it on. you just need to really keep it in place you don't need to drill out ever hole the factory base has. if you get either one, read the rules on it to find out how many different ways you can use them. you can even use them as a come-a-long. or even clamps. if you don't bolt on a wider base sometimes you'll just jack the thing straight down into the sand and your truck just sits there not moving and it's laughing at you....just like all your friends and some people you don't even know are. be careful with these f--king things bro. the can be viscious and scary f--kers. if your really stuck , it's not all that hard if you AND your friend have em' and you can use two so you get get something stable under your rear tires. invariably, we all know that if you really need the hi lift, you'll have a floor jack instead and vice versa. it's always like that it seems like. respect as usual. r

i think hilift makes a deal that works by hooking the lift tongue inside your wheel somehow to jack the whole enchilada up. mo betta that way. they'll sell you all kinds of things you should be getting for the price of the jack but oh well.
